How to Letter in Water Polo

  • Practice Attendance.  The most important thing you can do to help yourself and this team is to attend practice on a regular basis.  Polo players who wish to earn a letter must first attend 90% of the practices offered. Attendance will be taken everyday.

  • Time Requirements. Any Polo Player that qualifies for the Varsity Team and participates for a minimum of two years/or qualifies for the Varsity team and plays in the regional tournament

  • Attend and Participate in Scheduled Games.  Games are scheduled throughout the year and each and every member of the team is important to our success.  The only meets that are excused are those due to extreme illnesses, family emergency, possible UIL conflicts.  Students should make the coach aware in advance of missing a game due to a UIL conflict, and call the coach when ill or a family emergency arises.  Family trips, hunting trips, or other outside activities are not considered an excuse to miss a game.

  • Maintain Academic Excellence.  We have two 9 week grading periods throughout the water polo season, but student’s grades are determined in three week increments and any student who becomes ineligible due to grades during the polo season will not be allowed to letter for that year.

  • Be a Good Role Model for Conroe I.S.D.  We want those who earn a letter jacket to represent Conroe ISD Water Polo in a positive way. Misbehaving in class or at school functions will not be tolerated.
