Head Coach Swim- Rachel Banes

Coach Rachel Banes began swimming with FLEET and the Heatherwood Hurricanes summer league, and later swam at Cypress Creek High School. She has been coaching youth sports for the past eighteen years, including swimming, diving, water polo and gymnastics. Coach Banes has coached several local summer swim teams, as well as Humble and Oak Ridge and has been with TWCP since 2014. She has coached two UIL Texas State Champions and several state finalists. She has also earned several regional and district Coach of the Year awards in swimming and diving.

Coach Banes earned her Kinesiology degree at the University of Houston, with a minor in Sports Business. She is also a Special Education, Biology, and Physics teacher.

Coach Banes is married and has two sons who enjoy soccer, football and swimming.

Assistant Swim Coach- Brandon Becker

Coach Brandon Becker is a 2016 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a bachelors degree in History. After swimming for fifteen years, he coached summer league in NWAL for 7 years as well as coaching at a fundamental swim academy (FINS) teaching swimmers from the ages of 3-78. He also assistant coached at Plano Senior High School where he helped send seven swimmers to State including a 5th place finish in both the 100 Fly and 100 Breast. Coaching high school swimming is what he has dreamed of doing and now he is excited to fulfill that dream with an excellent school and program.

Head Diving Coach- Kevin Witt

Before coming to CISD, Coach Witt was Head Women’s Diving Coach for Colorado State University, an NCAA Division I institution, for 11 seasons from 2005-2016. Before that, Coach Witt taught 6th grade for 8 years in Fort Collins, Colorado, and was Head Diving Coach for Poudre School District in Colorado for 10 years. In this position, he coached athletes from 4 high schools, and multiple middle schools. He also owned and operated The Fort Collins Diving Club, a USA Diving and AAU Diving Club, for over 20 years.

Under his leadership, divers have achieved State & All-American recognition, Interscholastic Championships, Junior and Senior Olympic qualifiers and champions, and AAU National Championships. The Colorado High School Swim Coaches Association named Coach Witt Coach of The Year four times.

Coach Witt has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing from Colorado State University, and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from The University of Northern Colorado.
